5th North Rhine-Westphalian ICT Day

“Digital Industrial NRW” expresses the future vision – and at the same time the challenge – facing research and industry, not only in the ICT sector. At stake is the wave of digital change that is impacting all industries, and the question how North Rhine-Westphalian firms can ride this wave safely and successfully into the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).

“Smart & Secure” is our motto for 2014. What security features must networked production systems fulfill? How can companies, especially SMEs, profit from Industry 4.0? What must they do to prevent security hazards from wrecking their innovative business prospects? Can Industry 4.0 actually achieve the necessary levels of safety and security? The 5th North Rhine-Westphalian ICT Day 2014 is a platform for critical discussion of safety and security risks and a showcase for innovative pathways to a solution for Industry 4.0.

The venue for this year’s event is Bochum, in the heart of the Ruhr Industrial Area – a hotspot for IT security. The city’s RuhrCongress provides a suitable setting for NRW’s ICT industries to present their innovative capabilities and achievements, to network regionally, nationally and internationally, and to sow the seeds of further cooperative ventures. Whether you are an SME, a global player, a hidden champion, an ICT startup or a research institution, a professional society, association or network, ICT Day will offer you a wide and many-sided program with keynote lectures and discussions on topics of current interest, and a wealth of information on all the latest trends. As at a trade fair, the accompanying exhibition will enable companies, research institutions and networks to present their ICT innovations to a specialist public, make new contacts, and update their existing networks.

Numbers are limited. Apply for free entry to NRW’s 5th ICT DAY.

North Rhine-Westphalia

North Rhine-Westphalia - on track to the digital industry state

Germany’s historical economic and industrial center, North Rhine-Westphalia, is today a pioneer in the field of cyber-physical systems (CPS), the large, complex systems that open the way to the future for a state traditionally reliant on its industrial base. NRW possesses all the competencies needed to launch traditional industries into the innovative world of the digital economy, and to realize visions like the Internet of Things, the Industrial Internet and smart grids.
